Published 3 months ago • 1 min read
Hello Reader, Happy New Year! Let's learn how to draw anime-style illustrations and cartoons together this year!
Many people have the same problems when they draw. Let's learn about drawing techniques again, this time by referring to advice given by a professional Japanese teacher in response to a question from a real student. Let's use it as a reference when you draw illustrations and manga!
Student Hello sensei, Here is my walking pose drawing made in monochrome. Thank you.
Student's drawing
Teacher Your monochrome illustration is beautifully crafted—it looks like it could be straight out of a manga magazine! The upward-looking pose is also a wonderful touch. For a walking pose, tilting the center of gravity slightly forward can make the movement appear even more natural. (Please see the attached image for reference.) That said, your drawing is already so well done that no corrections are needed! Please use this feedback as a reference for your future creations. Keep up the fantastic work—I’m excited to see more of your art!
